Can We Truly Say We're Solving The Food Security Problem If We're Not Willing To Tackle It From All Angles?

With the population growing at an alarming rate, food security seems more and more like an issue that will never be solved. The amount of food needed to support the population of today and in the years to come, though, makes this issue seem even more daunting than it already did, especially considering that approximately 805 million people worldwide suffer from chronic undernourishment. While many solutions have been presented and implemented, can we truly say that we are solving the problem if we are not willing to tackle it from all angles?

Technology

Food insecurity is an issue that affects a lot of people, and it's one that should be addressed. That being said, technology may actually be able to help end hunger. There are a few apps out there now that are available to help people find food close to them, as well as providing recipes and information about what certain foods can do for the body.

There is also a company called Nomad Foods which aims to end food insecurity by helping produce local food in areas where it's scarce. They have started with three farms in Africa, but their goal is to eventually have 1 million farms on the continent. As time goes on, we'll see how things change.

Science

In the quest to solve world hunger, we have to look at all angles. Improved seeds and climate resistant plants will help farmers feed their families and the world. But it's not enough to just focus on these two aspects of food security - we also need to make sure that everyone has access to good nutrition and clean water.

Education

The role of education is key to solving the food security problem. By educating farmers through trainings, farm management, and a variety of other programs, we can help them increase their crop yields, diversify their crops, and make better use of fertilizers. Increased income from increased yield means increased access to food for the farmer's family and decreased hunger in the community.

Economic Incentives

The government and organizations can play a large role in providing incentives for sustainable practices and educating the public on where their food comes from. For example, there are organizations that will provide funding to farmers so they can install more efficient irrigation systems. This makes the land more fertile, cuts down on water use, and increases crop yields.

Environmental Protection

If we are to truly solve the food security problem, it is important that we look at the environmental impact of our food production. We must grow food in an environmentally sustainable way and make an effort to protect the environment for future generations. By eating less meat and reducing your consumption of other animal products, you can help reduce the large amounts of greenhouse gas emissions released into the atmosphere each year from livestock production.
